vintage_silk_wraps on Ebay

This is a store on ebay for Buyer BE WEAR
I was bidding on a lot of 6 skirts in which I was winning with a wonderful price so I thought. After the bidding got to $100, the seller put a BUY NOW price in the site so anyone that was bidding and wanted the lot of 6 for $89.00 could purchase it cheaper but the highest bidder was locked into paying the higher price. I paid ASAP and contacted the seller - ask if he would not make up the difference with sending extra wraps - just told me "TO BAD not he fault the bidding got so high"
So I left them a natural comment - and explain the change in auction after price was over $100. In return they give me a negative comment and misleading information my comments. I contacting him asking why the negative when all I did was be a great buyer by over paying within 10 min of the auction ending and only asking for him to balance the wrong doing on his part. Again "TOO BAD" "YOUR FAULT"
My reply...I will take my business and many other with me. HAVE A NICE DAY!

So with all that said - BUYERS BEWEAR....please please please....from one Tribal Goddess to another..PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SALER. There are many other seller on ebay - this guy does not deserve the belly dancer dollars!

Any questions......just me~~~~

Have you reported the seller to eBay? I don't believe an item can be legally changed after the minimum bid has been met without express permission from the company. I know they cannot change a description so I would think price would be the same. You can also complain to PayPal if that's how you paid. (Indeed- dodgey sellers is why you should use PayPal!)

Sorry to hear you got S*****d.

from what i see, he didn't change the price, just listed the exact same thing with a buy it now in his store, after the bidding had started, so not illegal on ebay, just bad form.

You're right. The seller, though not polite, didn't do anything "wrong". I've been bidding on plenty of items before that start to get kind of high and then all of a sudden another one will go up for sale. So, depending upon the circumstances of my bid, I may or may not switch to the new one. If you don't have the option...then it sucks.

I do believe there are provisions for canceling your bid if you change your mind or something like that. I'm not sure how to do it though. You'll have to look on ebay for the instructions.

In that case you SHOULD HAVE requested a withdrawal of your bid and be done with it. You allowed yourself to be screwed by not asking. Still shady dealings & thanks for the heads up.

Definitely complain to E-Bay. Though he did nothing illegal, this is the sort of seller that gives them a bad name--and they want to hear about such things. It is pretty much up to the consumer to police the sellers on E-Bay as there are so many that they cannot possibly keep up. Make sure you fill out your review of that seller as well.

WOW! I read the feedbacks on ebay, they totally hosed you. Not fair at all, and the feedback they left you was extremely rude!
I'm sorry this had to happen to you, I wish there was some way ebay could have handled this.

Thank you for heads up though, I will avoid this place like the plague.

Thanks for letting us know, Cat.

I had an awful experience with another seller on ebay, one that doesn't deal in SCA-related garb. Damned woman sent me dishes packed in one layer of newspaper... they of course arrived in pieces and shards. She threatened me when I left her honest negative feedback, then she left me nasty feedback, too, and I ended up filing and losing a claim with paypal, only because I hadn't held on to the broken items to ship back to her... broken. The evil woman's ebay handle is jmartellsport. Please avoid her like the plague. She threatens negative feedback if you don't play her game, then tries (unsuccessfully) to play childish mind games to get you riled up.

I haven't bought anything from ebay since.

      Hey, Cat..

Izz'e from Ohio? I'll beat him up for ya...

But yes, use Pay-pal and always have that acct. attached to one special credit-card that you use for nothing else if possible. You can then dispute the sale in two different ways.
Even better: Use Master-of-the-Card or Lady VISA with the warranty extension of up to one year for your Pay-Pal acct. which can come in really handy at times.
They've paid out a number of instances to moi for items which rolled over soon after the factory warranty expired.
